Opioid withdrawal, craving, and risk of using opioids again can be prevented by a medication, such as Suboxone. Suboxone is approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for the treatment of Opioid User Disorder.
The use of Suboxone in combination with counseling provides a “whole-patient” approach to the treatment of substance use disorders. This combined approach is often referred to as a Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).
Suboxone is a medication approved for the treatment of opioid dependence (addiction to opioid drugs, including heroin and narcotic painkillers). It helps prevent opioid cravings and is proven to prevent relapse.
Suboxone is a combination medicine that consists of buprenorphine (an opioid) and naloxone. Suboxone is a once-daily medication available as a dissolving film or tablet.
